QMforms is the first “media enhanced” application for quality monitoring on smartphones, tablets and related devices. That’s a mouthful, so let’s break it down:
This means you can create and fill out data entry forms to capture the data you need, with any kind of question and any kind of answer that you need. For example: “Connections are tight”, “Color meets specifications”, “Surface is level”, etc. Whatever your criteria are – and however you assess that, you can include on a QMforms form. And because QMforms is optimized for quality monitoring, you can assign points to each answer to automatically calculate a numeric score to what you’re evaluating.
In fact, you can add anything that can be captured by your smartphone or tablet. GPS coordinates show where you were when the form was completed. Signatures can capture a customer or patient acknowledgement. A drawing or sketch adds other detail. And many devices can capture really advanced measurements, like the decibel level of a noisy room, the vibrations of a machine, or whether something is level or not.
Adding media lets the people who use the completed forms understand the data in much more detail. And it provides evidence to substantiate the evaluation process.
Because of their popularity, smartphones and tablets and tablets are inexpensive, convenient and capable of enormous data collection. So you’re not limited to laptops or other heavy, expensive devices. Instead, your evaluators can use the same device they carry for other purposes, so there’s nothing else to carry and nothing else to buy.
